Michael Janse

Michael Janse is the Vice President of Business Development at Atlas Data Storage in Silicon Valley, where he focuses on commercializing DNA-based data storage technologies. Prior to assuming this role in March 2025, he served as a Senior Advisor at ARCH Venture Partners. Previously, Janse worked as a Senior Director at Qualcomm Ventures and a Managing Director at Samsung Venture Investment, directing capital into artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and mobility sectors. His operational experience includes co-founding and serving as Chief Executive Officer of Zzyzx Polymers and Ondulé Semiconductor, alongside earlier corporate roles at Arm and Motorola. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University. Janse maintains a primary focus on scaling deep tech, semiconductor, and advanced materials startups across the venture ecosystem.
