Michael Hsieh

Michael Hsieh is a General Partner at Base Ventures based in New York City, New York, where he leads seed and Series A investments across enterprise software and developer tools. Before joining his current firm, he served as a Principal at IA Ventures and gained valuable operational experience working at technology startups including Yext. Throughout his venture capital career, he has led more than 15 investments, building a portfolio that features several successful enterprise software startups, including Attentive, which achieved a unicorn exit. In 2025, he directed Base Ventures' participation in a Series D funding round for an artificial intelligence coding platform, drawing on his academic foundation from Harvard Business School. Hsieh currently focuses on deploying capital into early-stage cybersecurity, developer infrastructure, and machine learning startups while actively assisting portfolio companies with their operational scaling.
