Dr. Michael Hochholzer is the Managing Director at Giesecke+Devrient Ventures, where he directs venture capital cybersecurity investments across heterogeneous infrastructures. He holds a doctorate in optoelectronics and initially built his technical foundation developing security integrated circuits at Infineon. Following his technical roles, he co-founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of an internal corporate RFID startup. Since transitioning to venture capital in 2001, Hochholzer has managed both financial and corporate funds, executing investments in more than 25 technology companies. His international portfolio encompasses startups ranging from five to 500 employees across the United States, the United Kingdom, Israel, and Germany, yielding over 15 exits that include acquisitions, private equity transactions, and one initial public offering. Currently, his primary investment focus centers on mitigating complex cybersecurity challenges, preventing financial services fraud, and advancing compliant artificial intelligence systems.
