Michael Hennessy

Michael Hennessy is the Managing Director and Co-Founder of Morgan Creek Capital Management, an alternative investment firm based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Since co-founding the firm in 2004, he has helped build an organization of 52 employees focused on opportunistic investments across innovative technology, digital assets, and emerging markets. Previously, he served as Vice President of Investments at UNC Management, where he worked alongside Mark Yusko to manage the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s endowment. Earlier in his career, he worked as an Associate at Smith Breeden Associates and earned a Bachelor of Science from the College of William and Mary before completing his MBA at the Duke Fuqua School of Business. Today, his primary focus remains on deploying capital into alternative assets and thematic sectors utilizing an endowment-style investment approach.
