Michael Emmerson

Michael Emmerson is the Director of Labs at Factor[e] Ventures, an early-stage impact investment firm, and is based in London, United Kingdom. Prior to his current venture capital role, he worked as a product manager in the Solar Home System sector, where he validated and launched products across East and West African markets. Emmerson holds a First Class Honours Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Southampton University and a Master of Engineering in Geological Engineering from the University of British Columbia. At Factor[e] Ventures, an organization with historical ties to the Shell Foundation, he focuses on de-risking seed-stage technology startups operating in agriculture, clean energy, and waste management. His investment approach centers on deploying risk capital and technical expertise to scale hardware and software solutions throughout emerging markets in sub-Saharan Africa, India, and Latin America.
