Michael Ehlers

Michael Ehlers is an Entrepreneur Partner at MPM BioImpact, where he specializes in biopharmaceutical investments. Previously, he served as General Partner and Chief Scientific Officer at Apple Tree Partners, following his tenure as Executive Vice President of Research and Development at Biogen. At Biogen, Ehlers advanced more than 20 clinical candidates, contributing directly to the regulatory approvals of therapies including Spinraza and Leqembi. Before that, he was Senior Vice President of the Biotherapeutics Group and Neuroscience Chief Scientific Officer at Pfizer, bringing 22 compounds into clinical trials. His corporate leadership follows an extensive academic career as a Professor and Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator at Duke University Medical Center, where he authored over 100 scientific papers. His current focus centers on advancing biotech drug discovery, translational medicine, and clinical development across neurological, immunological, and rare diseases.
