Michael Dearing

Michael Dearing is the Managing Partner at Harrison Metal, an early-stage venture capital firm he founded in 2008. Before launching his own fund, he served as Senior Vice President and General Merchandise Manager at eBay, where he oversaw category management, strategy, and marketing. His earlier corporate experience includes serving as Chief Executive Officer at Industrial Shoe Warehouse, corporate strategy at The Walt Disney Company, and advising as an Associate Consultant at Bain & Company. Alongside his investing career, Dearing spent eight years as a Consulting Associate Professor at Stanford University from 2006 to 2014, teaching courses such as Launchpad and Entrepreneurial Finance. He holds an undergraduate degree in economics and earned an MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School. His current focus centers on productizing new technologies and providing foundational management education to early-stage technology founders.
