Michael Borrus is the Founding General Partner at XSeed Capital and Wilson Hill Ventures, based in Portola Valley, California. Since founding XSeed Capital in 2006, he has helped manage $110 million in assets, leading seed-stage investments across artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and enterprise software. His investment portfolio includes successful exits such as GeneWeave Biosciences, acquired by Roche, and OPXBIO, acquired by Cargill. Previously, Borrus served as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Mohr Davidow Ventures and worked as an Adjunct Professor at the UC Berkeley College of Engineering. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University, a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School, and has authored three books alongside more than 70 industry publications. His current focus remains on identifying promising early-stage technical innovations while leveraging his extensive background in global technology policy and venture capital.
