Michael Bettess

Michael Bettess is a Senior Investment Manager at Brandon Capital Partners and Acting Project Head of the CUREator program, based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Before joining the firm in 2016, he served as a Senior Business Development Manager at Monash University and completed a Roche Research Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship in Switzerland. Bettess currently serves as a director for four biotechnology companies, including Cincera Therapeutics and Currus Biologics, and previously led due diligence for Nexvet Biopharma prior to its 2017 acquisition by Zoetis, whose lead asset was projected to exceed $500 million in peak annual revenue. He holds a PhD in stem cell biology from the University of Adelaide and an MBA from La Trobe University. His current focus centers on early-stage life sciences and biotechnology investments, specifically guiding companies as they transition from academic research to commercial viability.
