Michael Acton

Michael Acton Smith is the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Calm, a digital consumer brand focused on mental fitness and meditation. Under his leadership, the platform expanded its user base and was recognized as Apple's App of the Year in 2017. Prior to Calm, he founded Mind Candy, the entertainment company behind the children's online world Moshi Monsters, which scaled to 80 million registered users globally. His earlier entrepreneurial ventures include launching the e-commerce retailer Firebox.com and creating experiential events like Ping Pong Fight Club and the Berwickstock music festival. In recognition of his contributions to the creative industries, he was awarded an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2014.
