Mercedes Bent

Mercedes Bent is a Partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners based in San Francisco, United States. Before joining the firm in 2019, she served as a General Manager at General Assembly, where she helped scale the educational organization's revenue from $2 million to $100 million over four years. Her earlier career includes analytical and finance roles at Goldman Sachs and the Federal Reserve, as well as founding two startups and holding an executive position at a virtual reality company. She holds an AB from Harvard University alongside an MBA and a Master’s in Education from Stanford University, and was recognized in 2021 as a top woman to watch in venture capital. Bent currently focuses on early-stage consumer fintech and edtech investments across the Latin American and US markets, holding board positions at multiple portfolio companies.
