Max Motschwiller

Max Motschwiller is a General Partner at the venture capital firm NFX, based in San Francisco, California. Before joining NFX, he served as an Associate at Benchmark from 2015 to 2018 and held positions at Thrive Capital and IA Ventures after earning a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Harvard University in 2015. Throughout his career, he has led more than 20 early-stage investments, backing companies such as Hex and BuildOps, and participating in notable exits like Amplitude's 2021 initial public offering. Recently, he led a $15 million Series A funding round for the artificial intelligence startup Goldsky in March 2024 and spoke on seed investing trends at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference in October 2025. Motschwiller currently focuses on sourcing and managing seed-stage investments across the enterprise software, artificial intelligence, developer tools, and financial technology sectors.
