Max Hofer

Max Hofer is the Founder and CEO of Coefficient, an enterprise data automation platform based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Before launching the Y Combinator-backed startup, he worked as a management consultant at Bain & Company, where he specialized in enterprise data workflows. Hofer holds a PhD in Applied Machine Learning from Stanford University and leverages this technical expertise to eliminate manual data entry for business operations. Under his leadership, Coefficient has secured more than $26 million in total funding, including a $15 million Series A extension in March 2024 led by Bessemer Venture Partners. The platform currently serves over 5,000 organizations, and Hofer recently introduced new AI-powered automation features in the first quarter of 2025. His current focus remains on developing artificial intelligence solutions that optimize enterprise software workflows and streamline complex data integration.
