Max Clegg is the Head of LDC Innovations, the corporate venture capital arm of Louis Dreyfus Company, based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Since joining the global agricultural commodities firm in 2012, he has held multiple regional leadership positions, including serving as the Head of Business Development and Mergers and Acquisitions for North America. In his previous capacity as the Head of Food Innovation Projects for the North American market, Clegg directed the corporation's strategic early-stage investment in Motif FoodWorks. He was appointed to lead LDC Innovations upon the program's official launch in June 2020, operating under the leadership of Thomas Couteaudier and former chief executive Ian McIntosh. Clegg currently focuses on identifying and funding early-stage startups that address critical agricultural supply chain challenges, specifically targeting advancements in alternative proteins, processing technology, and food waste reduction.
