Matthias Weber

Matthias Weber is currently a Partner at Mighty Capital, where he directs venture capital investments across a variety of emerging technology sectors. Prior to entering the venture capital space, he built a comprehensive corporate career spanning more than 25 years in the global insurance and reinsurance markets. Weber spent a substantial portion of his professional tenure at Swiss Re, where he ultimately advanced to the role of Group Chief Underwriting Officer and served as a core member of the Group Executive Committee. His foundational academic background includes both a doctorate and a master's degree in physics and natural sciences, which he earned from ETH Zurich in Switzerland. In his current capacity, Weber applies his deep institutional insurance expertise, executive leadership experience, and rigorous scientific training to identify, evaluate, and scale high-growth startup companies within the firm's portfolio.
