Matthias Vinther

Matthias Vinther is a Partner at Forbion, where he currently leads life sciences and biotechnology venture capital investments across the European market. Before joining Forbion, he served as an investor at Novo Ventures starting in 2016, leading due diligence on biotechnology companies and supporting portfolio operations. During his tenure there, he facilitated corporate exits to major pharmaceutical firms, including acquisitions by Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, and Boehringer Ingelheim. Additionally, he directly supported four NASDAQ initial public offerings for portfolio companies such as VectivBio, Inventiva, Pharvaris, and Lava Therapeutics. His academic background includes a doctorate, a Master's, and a Bachelor's degree from Aarhus University, alongside visiting research scholar tenures at Harvard Medical School and the University of California, Berkeley. Vinther bridges academia and industry by focusing his current investments on translating scientific research into immunotherapy and drug delivery therapies.
