Matthias Baumann

Matthias Baumann is the Founding Managing Partner at Blue Future Partners, a venture capital firm based in Berlin, Germany. In this capacity, he leads seed and Series A investments across European markets, deploying capital with initial check sizes ranging from $1 million to $10 million. Working alongside co-founder Gregor von dem Knesebeck and Managing Partner Johann Krone, Baumann has helped the firm screen over 3,200 investments and establish relationships with more than 30 general partners since its inception in 2015. Before joining Blue Future Partners as Operations Director in 2017, he spent eight years in technology consultancy roles and served as the Head of Business Development at Open Publishing. His career focus remains centered on private markets and alternative assets, leveraging his background in large-scale IT project management to evaluate early-stage European technology ventures.
