Matthew Wilson is the Founder and Managing Director of Allied Venture Partners, an angel investment syndicate currently based in Calgary, Alberta. Before transitioning to venture capital, he held corporate sales leadership positions at Coca-Cola and Nestlé and successfully exited a Toronto-based consumer packaged goods startup in 2012 before moving to Western Canada. Since his initial exit, Wilson has personally invested in more than 100 early-stage technology companies, achieving seven notable exits that include early equity stakes in Lyft and Pinterest. Through Allied Venture Partners, which he launched in October 2020, he manages a network of approximately 2,000 global investors and has deployed over $6 million across 21 portfolio companies. Holding a venture capital certificate from Harvard Business School, his current focus centers on funding early-stage infrastructure layer software startups and connecting Canadian founders with external capital sources.
