Matthew Walsh

Matthew Walsh is a Founding Partner at Castle Island Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in the Boston, Massachusetts area. He co-founded the firm, which currently manages approximately $400 million in assets under management across multiple vehicles, including a $250 million third fund. Prior to establishing the firm, Walsh served as a Vice President at Fidelity Investments, where he spearheaded various blockchain initiatives and managed a private cryptoasset fund. He currently holds board director positions at several portfolio companies, including Coin Metrics, Dust Identity, and Hidden Road, and co-hosts an industry podcast alongside Nic Carter. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Babson College and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. His current focus centers on providing pre-seed through Series B capital to startups building public blockchain infrastructure and financial services.
