Matthew Sutton

Matthew Sutton is a General Partner at Haystack based in San Francisco, California, where he invests in seed and pre-seed technology startups across North America. Before joining his current firm in January 2023, he served as a Partner at Initialized Capital from 2018 to 2022 and held earlier investment roles at Bessemer Venture Partners. Sutton has backed more than 50 companies during his venture career, recently leading a major artificial intelligence investment in June 2024, and previously saw notable exits such as Amplitude's 2021 initial public offering.
