Matthew McDonald

Matthew McDonald is a Venture Partner at Pioneer Fund and a Partner at Banneker Partners based in Florida, USA. Before transitioning to venture capital and private equity, the University of Missouri alumnus spent three years as a Product Design Engineer at Apple, where his technical work contributed to seven patents. In 2014, McDonald founded the technology company EquipmentShare.com, and he subsequently served as Principal of Corporate Development at Square, Inc. His institutional investment experience includes roles as a Director at CVC Capital Partners and various operating positions at Vista Equity Partners, including Director of Strategy at Misys. He reconnected with Stephen Davis in 2016 to help expand Banneker Partners before joining Pioneer Fund in 2018. McDonald leverages over twenty years of professional experience to focus his current efforts on software-oriented private equity, venture capital, and technology operations.
