Matthew Caspari is a Managing Partner at Alumni Ventures, where he leads the firm's Deep Tech Fund, Strawberry Creek Ventures, and Potomac Ventures. Previously, he founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of Aurora Biofuels, a deep-tech venture that raised over $100 million and scaled to more than 100 employees before being acquired by Reliance Industries. His corporate leadership experience includes directing innovation and sustainability initiatives at Nike, as well as executing mergers and acquisitions at Bloomberg. Caspari holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Georgetown University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley. He currently focuses on deploying capital into deep technology, artificial intelligence, and aerospace startups, managing investments for a firm with over 10,000 individual investors across a portfolio that includes Cohere, Groq, and Axiom Space.
