Matthew Arnold

Matthew Arnold is the Chief Financial Officer at Fractile, based in Oxford, England. Before entering the deeptech sector, he spent thirteen years at Goldman Sachs, ultimately serving as a Managing Director in Principal Strategic Investments and Fixed Income Analytics from 2002 to 2015, following early career experience as a software engineer. Arnold transitioned into venture capital as an investor at Oxford Science Enterprises between 2015 and 2022, and later served as the Chief Financial Officer at Mind Foundry from January 2023 until April 2025. During his tenure in venture capital, he held board director positions at several early-stage science companies, including PQShield from 2018 to 2021, Diffblue, and BibliU. Holding a Master of Engineering in Information Engineering from the University of Cambridge, Arnold combines technical software expertise with institutional finance experience to scale early-stage deeptech ventures.
