Matt Wilkerson

Matt Wilkerson is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Extern, an educational technology platform that provides remote externships designed to connect students with corporate partners. He previously co-founded and led Paragon One, a human resources technology startup backed by the Y Combinator Winter 2017 cohort that eventually executed a strategic pivot to become the current Extern model. Prior to his ventures in the education technology sector, Wilkerson co-founded the e-commerce marketplace AHAlife and began his early corporate career in the finance industry with investment roles at Morgan Stanley and TCV. He holds dual undergraduate degrees from MIT, earning his academic credentials in both Computer Science and Engineering alongside Management Science. His professional background centers on scaling venture-backed technology startups, executing complex business pivots, and developing scalable remote workforce solutions for modern global enterprises.
