Matt Trevithick

Matt Trevithick is the Managing Partner at Leitmotif, a venture capital firm he co-founded in 2023, and is based in Palo Alto, California. Prior to this role, he served as a Partner at DCVC focusing on later-stage climate tech investments and was a Partner at Venrock, where his clean energy portfolio included Lucid Motors and Nest. As the former COO of Google Quantum AI, Trevithick managed a team that achieved the first beyond-classical quantum computing result, which was published in Nature in October 2019. He previously directed sponsored research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, served on the board of Fervo Energy, and facilitated Alphabet's 2021 investment in Commonwealth Fusion Systems. Equipped with engineering and management degrees from MIT, Trevithick currently focuses on guiding deep tech and clean energy founders through complex capital planning and fundraising.
