Matt Sueoka is the Senior Vice President and Global Head of Amex Ventures at American Express, where he leads early-stage venture investments across global innovation sectors. He directs capital toward startups in fintech, commerce, and frontier technologies, managing a portfolio that includes prominent companies like Stripe, Instacart, and Plaid. Sueoka drives strategic alignment between these emerging enterprises and the broader corporation, ensuring that seventy-five percent of the venture portfolio maintains active partnerships with American Express business units. Previously, he served as Vice President and Head of Global Strategy, Partnerships, and Enablement for Amex Digital Labs. His earlier career includes roles as a financial services strategy consultant at Bain & Company and as a business designer for a global design firm. Sueoka currently focuses on leveraging corporate venture capital to accelerate technological innovation and establish long-term strategic alliances.
