Matt Ruiters

Matt Ruiters is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of HYBRD, a fitness technology startup based in San Francisco, California. Prior to launching the Y Combinator-backed company in 2024, he served as a senior technical lead at Amazon Web Services, where he developed features across Billing and Amazon Connect that generated millions in revenue. His earlier career includes product management within the fitness vertical at a mobile application roll-up and work as a research associate focusing on health and artificial intelligence at Harvard University. Ruiters earned a degree from the University of Virginia School of Engineering and Applied Science in 2017 and transitioned from 10 years of competitive rugby to completing Ironman 70.3 triathlons. He currently focuses on integrating artificial intelligence into training optimization to track and enhance performance metrics for hybrid athletes.
