Matt Popoli

Matt Popoli is a Partner and the Global Head of Insurance at Bain Capital, currently based in Boston, Massachusetts. Since joining the firm in 2021, he has overseen global insurance investments, including the deployment of capital from Bain Capital's $1.15 billion inaugural insurance fund, which had committed $250 million by July 2023. Before assuming his current role, he founded Insurance Capital Group, a firm that received investment from Bain Capital affiliates in 2018. Previously, he served as a Partner and Investment Committee Member at Reservoir Capital Group, where he led financial services investments, and worked as a Principal at Capital Z Partners. He began his professional career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Morgan Stanley, establishing a foundation for his two decades of experience focused exclusively on building and investing in the insurance sector.
