Matt Marcus

Matt Marcus is the Co-Founder and CEO of Modern Treasury, a financial technology company based in San Francisco, California. He assumed the chief executive position in July 2025 after serving as the firm's Chief Product Officer for over seven years, initially launching the enterprise through the Y Combinator accelerator program in 2018. Before establishing Modern Treasury, Marcus spent two years and eleven months working as a Senior Software Engineer at LendingHome, where he originally identified critical technical gaps in existing corporate payment operations. The Dartmouth College graduate has built his professional career around developing scalable financial systems, publicly discussing his architectural approach on episode 93 of the Leaders in Payments podcast during 2021. His current executive focus centers on expanding enterprise-grade payment infrastructure and advancing real-time payment software solutions for complex corporate financial operations.
