Matt Jacobus is a Venture Partner at Two Sigma Ventures, where he focuses on deal sourcing, investment evaluation, and serving as an advisor and board member for portfolio companies. Before transitioning to the venture capital arm, he served as the inaugural Chief Technology Officer at Two Sigma Investments from 2013 to 2016, having originally joined the quantitative finance firm in 2003 to build and manage its core technology infrastructure. His earlier financial and technology career includes serving as Vice President of Equities at UBS, Chief Technology Officer at Reservoir Capital, and holding leadership roles at Opticality Ventures. Jacobus earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and computer science from Carnegie Mellon University. He currently leverages his extensive background in building scalable computational tools for quantitative finance to evaluate early-stage venture investments and advise technology-driven startups.
