Matt Hanson

Matt Hanson is a Washington, DC-based Venture Partner at Blu Venture Investors and the Managing Partner and Co-founder of the startup accelerator Pax Momentum. Before transitioning to venture capital, he co-founded the satellite broadband provider Segovia, which was acquired for $100 million, and held senior sales roles at various telecommunications firms. Since joining Blu in November 2010, Hanson has participated in funding over 80 early-stage companies, backing notable billion-dollar technology enterprises like IDme and Huntress Labs. His active investment portfolio includes recent financial transactions like a $3,500,000 seed round for IntelliGRC and a $42,500,000 Series B for Sorcero, alongside previous board director roles at startups including Urgently and NS8. Hanson currently focuses his professional efforts on early-stage investments across the cybersecurity, enterprise software, and telecommunications sectors to build the DC metro area into a tech startup hub.
