Matt Dunbar

Matt Dunbar is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of VentureSouth, an early-stage investment firm based in Greenville, South Carolina. Under his leadership, the firm manages a network of nearly 600 member investors across 11 angel groups and two funds focused on the Southeast. Before establishing VentureSouth, he worked as a Project Leader at Boston Consulting Group and began his career as an engineer at Eastman Chemical Company. He has held board positions at several organizations, including Entegra Bank prior to its acquisition by First Citizens Bank, and Cirtemo before its sale to Thorlabs. Dunbar holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Clemson University, alongside an MBA and a master's degree in education from Stanford University. His current focus remains on directing early-stage angel investments and supporting regional entrepreneurship initiatives across the Southeastern United States.
