Matt Downs

Matt Downs is the Co-CEO and Managing Partner at Sandbox Industries and a Managing Director at the Blue Venture Fund, currently based in Alpine, Utah. He began his financial career in the New York mergers and acquisitions group at Morgan Stanley before transitioning to venture capital as an investor at Highland Capital Partners. Downs holds a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University and a Master of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. In his current executive capacity, he oversees firm culture and investment processes, serving on the boards of seven healthcare and technology companies, including Lumeris, Solera Health, and Perspectum, while acting as a board observer for Somatus. His professional focus centers on deploying capital, expanding into new markets, and driving operational scaling across the healthcare and technology venture sectors.
