Matt Cohen

Matt Cohen is a venture capital investor and Partner at Osage University Partners, where he oversees all partnership investments and co-manages the life sciences team alongside Bill Harrington MD. He specializes in funding university spinouts and biotechnology innovations, backing recognizable public companies like Biohaven Pharmaceuticals, Kura Oncology, and Beam Therapeutics. His extensive investment portfolio also features several highly successful corporate exits, including the acquisition of Synthorx by Sanofi, Cell Design Labs by Gilead, and Kate Therapeutics by Novartis. Before entering venture capital, he worked as a strategy consultant at LEK Consulting, where he advised biopharmaceutical companies and private equity clients. He holds a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Microbiology from Penn State University, giving him the scientific background needed to bridge academic research and commercial investment.
