Matt Cheng

Matt Cheng is the founder and managing partner of Cherubic Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm operating across Silicon Valley and Greater China. He previously studied Information Management at National Taiwan University before serving as a founding team member and chief strategy officer at Tian Ge Interactive, leading its $1.5 billion Hong Kong IPO in 2014. Cheng also co-founded Fotoable Inc., a photo editing application downloaded in over 40 countries, and now focuses on early-stage global investments driven by business model innovation and consumer behavior. Since establishing his firm, he has successfully backed twelve top unicorn startups, including recognizable brands such as Hims and Hers, Calm, Flexport, and Wish. The venture firm notably doubled its unicorn portfolio in 2021 through two public listings and one major acquisition, cementing his status as a top early-stage investor.
