Matt Aitken

Matt Aitken is a programmer and startup founder who serves as the CEO of the open-source developer infrastructure platform Trigger.dev. Founded in 2022 alongside Eric Allam, Dan Patel, and James Ritchie, the Y Combinator-backed company provides a TypeScript framework for building artificial intelligence agents and background workflows. Under his leadership, the platform has grown to support over 30,000 developers who execute hundreds of millions of agents monthly. The startup recently announced the general availability of its fourth version and secured a sixteen million dollar Series A round from Standard Capital, bringing total funding to sixteen and a half million dollars. Prior to this venture, he contributed to the popular open-source JSON Hero viewer used by 35,000 monthly developers, and he previously built two applications that won Apple's iPad App of the Year award.
