Mathieu Pieronne

Mathieu Piéronne is a Director at Andera Life Sciences, the venture capital arm of Andera Partners, based in Paris, France. Prior to joining the firm in 2014, he conducted academic research on tissue engineering and embryonic stem cells for cardiovascular applications at INSERM. He holds a Master’s degree in Biotherapies and Tissue Engineering from the University of Paris Descartes and completed postgraduate studies in Finance and Strategy at ESSEC Business School. In his current role, he executes life sciences investments ranging from €15 million to €60 million per company across Europe and the United States. His investment activity spans from preclinical to commercialization stages, recently including the addition of Spiro Medical to the firm's portfolio in January 2025. Piéronne focuses on bridging biotechnology and finance to support breakthrough therapeutic products and medical technologies.
