Mateus Figueiredo currently serves as a Managing Partner at Vertex Capital, an early-stage venture firm based in São Paulo, Brazil. Previously, he held the position of Director of Product Management at Nubank, where he directed a team of 45 engineers and oversaw a portfolio of credit products that generated over $150 million in annual recurring revenue. Before his tenure at the digital bank, Figueiredo worked as a Senior Strategy Associate at McKinsey, advising Fortune 500 clients, and began his professional career as a backend software engineer at Google. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the Universidade de São Paulo. His current professional focus centers on sourcing and scaling early-stage financial technology and enterprise software startups operating throughout the broader Latin American market.
