Matan Bordo

Matan Bordo is the Managing Partner at RareBreed Ventures, an early-stage venture capital fund and venture studio based in San Diego, California. Before his current role, he founded and exited multiple financial technology startups and held investment positions at the venture firm Initialized Capital. He currently oversees more than $100 million in assets under management and manages a portfolio of over 50 companies, recently launching the $50 million RareBreed Fund III in March 2026. Bordo directs pre-seed and seed investments across the artificial intelligence, climate technology, and software sectors, recently backing the AI startup CredAI. The San Diego State University finance graduate regularly advises founders and has spoken at major industry events, including TechCrunch Disrupt in 2024. His current focus remains on scaling early-stage fintech and emerging technology startups through capital deployment and operational mentorship.
