Masa Suekane

Masa Suekane is a Partner at Bain Capital Private Equity in Tokyo, Japan, where he jointly leads the Japanese private equity team alongside Naofumi Nishi. Since joining as a founding member of the Tokyo office in 2006, he has specialized in buyout transactions across the healthcare and industrial sectors throughout the Asia Pacific region. His transaction experience includes the USD 5,400 million carveout of York Holdings and the USD 3,400 million acquisition of Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma. Additionally, he has executed midcap take private deals such as the USD 338 million Jamco transaction and the JPY 100 billion enterprise value acquisition of Trancom, enabled by Dalton Investments. Before his long tenure at Bain Capital, he worked as a consultant at The Boston Consulting Group and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS from the University of Tokyo.
