Mary Cranston

Mary Cranston is the Independent Chair of the Board at Chemours and a corporate director at Visa and CSAA Insurance, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She previously served as the CEO of the law firm Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP from 1999 to 2006, where she doubled the firm's size and profitability. Over a legal career spanning more than 30 years, Cranston advised Fortune 100 companies on mergers and acquisitions and litigated over 300 class action lawsuits. She holds a BA and JD from Stanford University, where she served as a Trustee from 2000 to 2010, earned a master's degree from UCLA, and previously chaired the board of Stanford Children’s Hospital. Cranston currently focuses on corporate governance, complex litigation resolution, and strategic startup investments across the technology, financial, and pharmaceutical sectors.
