Marwan Refaat

Marwan Refaat is the Founder of Fractal Capital, an investment fund focused on the longevity and deep technology sectors. After leaving Egypt at the age of seventeen, he enrolled in the Bachelor of Liberal Arts program at Harvard University's Harvard Extension School while developing computer vision software for visually impaired users. Refaat subsequently left his university studies to pursue technology entrepreneurship full-time, a career transition that ultimately resulted in two separate startup acquisitions. Through Fractal Capital, he currently provides initial capital to early-stage founders, specifically enabling them to make peer investments in other emerging entrepreneurs. Alongside his ongoing work as an early-stage investor and musician, he actively explores hypothetical gene therapies and advanced biotechnology applications. Refaat maintains a primary professional focus on accelerating deep tech commercialization and supporting founder-led investment initiatives from the very first check.
