Martin Pfister

Martin Pfister is the Head of Credit & Surety Reinsurance at Swiss Re, where he oversees the firm's global reinsurance business for credit, surety, and political risk insurance. He assumed this executive position in April 2023, bringing nearly two decades of experience in corporate finance and risk management to the role. Since joining Swiss Re in 2014, Pfister has held multiple senior leadership positions, including Head of Financial Planning & Analysis for the EMEA region and Chief Financial Officer of Swiss Re Protection Partners. Prior to his tenure at Swiss Re, he worked at AXA Group across offices in Winterthur and Paris, managing operations in risk management, asset management, and finance. Pfister holds a Master of Science in Mathematics from ETH Zurich, providing a quantitative foundation for his current focus on global reinsurance and political risk underwriting.
