Martin Brudermüller is the Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Mercedes-Benz Group AG, based in Mannheim, Germany. Previously, he spent 36 years at BASF SE, culminating in his tenure as Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors and Chief Technology Officer until April 2024. After studying at the University of Karlsruhe, he joined BASF in 1988 as a research scientist and subsequently held leadership positions across strategic planning, marketing, and production, including serving as President of the Functional Polymers division from 2003 to 2006. Beyond his corporate mandates, he was re-elected as President of the European Chemical Industry Council in 2022 and accompanied German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on a state visit to China that same year. His current focus centers on corporate governance, industrial sustainability, and innovation management within the European manufacturing and automotive sectors.
