Martijn Kleijwegt is a Partner at EQT Life Sciences based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Prior to his current role, he founded the European life sciences venture capital firm LSP in 1998 and served as its Managing Partner until its acquisition by EQT in 2022 for an initial 450 million euros. Under his leadership, LSP raised over 3 billion euros and invested in 150 biotechnology companies, backing notable clinical-stage entities such as Galapagos before the firm rebranded under the EQT umbrella. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Partner at Euroventures and held a corporate finance position at Philips International after earning a master's degree in financial economics from the University of Amsterdam. Today, Kleijwegt leverages his extensive board experience to focus on directing global biotech investments across early- to late-stage therapeutics, medical devices, and enabling technologies.
