Martien van Osch is the Managing Partner, CFO, and co-founder of Forbion, currently based in Boston, Massachusetts. Before establishing the European life sciences venture capital firm, he spent ten years at ABN AMRO Group, including six years as an Investment Director for ABN AMRO Capital Life Sciences. Over his 20-year career, he has directed medtech investments across Forbion Funds I through III and secured multiple high-profile exits. His portfolio track record includes the 2014 sale of Santaris to Roche, the 2005 acquisition of Impella by Abiomed, and the 2004 Nasdaq initial public offering of Acadia. After representing the firm in Singapore from 2018 to 2023, he relocated to the United States to lead Forbion's Boston office. Van Osch leverages his academic foundation in econometrics from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen to focus on scaling medical technology and biopharmaceutical startups.
