Marten Steen

Mårten Steen is a Managing Partner at HealthCap, a life science-focused venture capital firm. He holds an MD and a PhD in Clinical Chemistry from Lund University, where he authored 16 peer-reviewed scientific publications, alongside a bachelor's degree in business administration from the Lund University School of Economics and Management. Prior to his venture capital career, Steen worked in business development at Merck Serono, focusing on product and technology licensing, and conducted medical research on coagulation disorders at Novo Nordisk. As an investor, he has served on the boards of several prominent biotechnology companies, including Ultragenyx, Strongbridge, Ferrokin prior to its acquisition by Shire, and Wilson Therapeutics before it was acquired by Alexion.
