Marshall Porter

Marshall Porter is a General Partner at AlleyCorp based in New York City, New York, where he focuses on seed and early-stage investments in enterprise software, artificial intelligence, and developer tools. Before his current role, he co-founded and led operations at Gimlet Media, which was acquired by Spotify for $230 million in 2019. The Columbia University alumnus previously held operational and investment positions across the New York technology ecosystem. At AlleyCorp, Porter has backed more than 50 companies and recently led a $15 million Series A funding round for the AI coding platform Replit in March 2025. He also co-authored "The Operator's Playbook" in 2024 and joined his firm's expanded investment committee in January 2026. Porter bridges the gap between operators and investors to scale startups across the enterprise SaaS, fintech, and climate tech sectors.
