Marko Tvrdic is the Cofounder and Chief Operating Officer of Exin Therapeutics, an emerging biotechnology company focused on genetic therapies for neurological disorders. He helped launch the startup in February 2026 alongside co-founders Gabriel Ocana Santero and Ivan Lazarte to develop treatments targeting neural activity in conditions such as epilepsy, autism spectrum disorder, and Parkinson’s disease. Prior to his entrepreneurial ventures, Tvrdic pursued an MSc and a PhD in neuroscience at Oxford University, where he is currently on leave to build the new enterprise. His academic research encompasses systems and behavioral neuroscience, with specific technical experience utilizing induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) models to study retinal disorders, developmental neuroscience, and circadian rhythms. Tvrdic's professional focus currently centers on translating his foundational neuroscience expertise into scalable genetic interventions for complex neuropsychiatric and brain circuitry diseases.
