Mark Wegter

Mark Wegter is a Partner at EQT Life Sciences based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, where he co-leads the firm's healthcare and life sciences investment activities. He previously served as a Managing Partner at Life Sciences Partners from 1999 until March 2022, when the firm was formally acquired by EQT Group. Alongside Managing Partners Dr. René Kuijten and Joachim Rothe, he oversees a specialized team of more than 35 employees operating across offices in Amsterdam, Munich, and Boston. Before beginning his nearly 25-year tenure in private equity, he worked as a Senior Analyst at ING Corporate and Investment Banking and earned a Master's degree in Business Economics from Erasmus University of Rotterdam. Wegter currently focuses on directing specialist finance and private equity investments into innovative European life sciences companies while serving as a non-executive board member.
